One day I was inspired to capture the beauty of the first rose to bloom in my garden. That rose was a Peace Rose and since then, I have been at "peace" photographing whatever catches "my lens" on my pro SLR digital cameras. In addition to photographing roses and flowers from my gardens I love to capture many things including lighthouses and scenery around the country. I always travel with my cameras so that I may photograph anything of interest that comes along. I also love to work in my all-digital Portrait Studio located within my home. I've always been a creative person and have been featured three times in The Detroit News, twice for my garden and garden tips and once as an Honorable Mention in a home decorating contest for my interior design skills. Two of my lighthouse photos were published on the covers of two publications, one on "Lighthouse Digest" magazine and the other on "Lighthouse Depot" catalog. I have also received an award for "Best Daytime View" for another of my lighthouse photos in Lighthouse Digest's annual lighthouse photography contest. I was a Finalist in "Photographer's Forum" magazines "23rd Annual College Photography Contest" for one of my scenic mountain landscapes that was published in their "Best of College Photography Annual 2003". With a graphics tablet tethered to my computer and using various computerized brushes I create one of a kind paintings from my original digital photos. Unlike other techniques that require applying an all-over filter with a click of the mouse, my method requires artistic skills since all my work has been originally hand painted. I have received an award for one of my paintings at an art show I was in. I process all my photographs, portraits and artwork myself on one of three archival ink large format printers. Everything is printed on special archival photo, fine art, and water-color papers including canvas. With the combination of my printers and papers I produce photos and artwork that will last +150 years. "Through my eyes to yours, from my hands to yours... I hope you'll find "peace" in my work". |
